I´m searching for a stable version of openwrt... but there are a lot of diffrent versions in the download section.
So please can you haelp me ? Wich is the best version for my WRT54G 3.1 G

what is the diffrence between openwrt-wrt54g3g-squashfs.bin and openwrt-wrt54g-squashfs.bin
i´m really perplexed... and i don´t wan´t to kill my WRT !

None of them are for the WRT54G v3.1. The Image Builder you downloaded creates only images for the Texas Instruments AR7 platform.
For the WRT54G v3.1 use the images and the Image Builder found in .

Aren't the filenames self-explanatory?
openwrt-wrt54g-squashfs.bin = WRT54G models (all versions except v5)
openwrt-wrt54g3g-squashfs.bin = WRT54G 3G (that's for the UMTS router with cardbus)

just a other question... i´m running dd-wrt on my WRT and want´t to switch to openwrt is there something i have to notice to ? Must i set boot_wait on ? Or is it already done in dd-wrt... sry for my stupid qustions....
What is the best method tftp or should i use the web interface ??
