Topic: WAP54G version 3

The content of this topic has been archived on 5 Mar 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

i read a lot on google about installing openWrt on this device.
someone said that is impossible because it have only 2 or 4mb of flash, someone said that its hard but can be done.
any true experience?
if anyone want i can provide a testing access point.

i have opened a wap54g version 3, if developer is interested i can provide serial number of hardware and some photos

the memory chip is a GLT5640L16-6TC, form the datasheet i read that have 8mb! not 4 o 2mb that mentioned in other posts

I have WAP54G v.3.

I din't open device yet, but after installing whiterussian RC4 default I realised (by df command) that there are only 1216x1k blocks (=1,18M ???) avaliable (15% free after default installation).
So my plan to run NoCat module on device fails :-( (even if I use RC4 micro , NoCat requires many other large modules).

BTW : Don't forget to enable boot_wait using modified CONF file from http://wiki.openwrt.org/OpenWrtDocs/Installing U'll need it ;-)

You should distinguish between RAM (GLT...8MB) and flash (2MB). Both are too small.
