It's there.

yes, but cant bring wifi online

here you have the wireless config file

config wifi-device 'radio0'
    option type 'mac80211'
    option channel '11'
    option hwmode '11g'
    option path '18000000.axi/bcma0:7/pci0000:00/0000:00:00.0/0000:01:00.0/bcma1:1'

config wifi-iface
    option device 'radio0'
    option network 'lan'
    option mode 'ap'
    option ssid 'OpenWrt'
    option encryption 'none'

if i change radio0 to phy0, then i can scan for other networks, but not bring my own online.
it makes no difference on scan if i change option to b43

in dd-wrt everything works, but like openwrt more, so hopefully it will work soon.

i am still stuck with no wifi ;-(

in kernel log everything looks fine.
driver loaded in kernel log.

missing MAC address?

I tried to put a random mac trough option, but no luck

Paste output of both commands:

ifconfig -a
cat /var/run/hostapd-phy0.conf

michael poulsen: I really don't know what's wrong with OpenWrt and your R6250 sad I've just installed firmware from http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/ … x/generic/ on my R6250 and I got it working.

Please provide me output of two following commands:

cat /sys/class/ieee80211/phy0/macaddress
nvram show

P.S.
"driver=nl80211" is absolutely correct

michael poulsen: your NVRAM is totally messed up. It contains only some very basic entries, without very important info for wireless PCIe devices. I have no idea how/what did you do to erase 90% of your NVRAM.

Try to install Netgear's firmware for R6250 and hope it'll somehow recreate your damaged NVRAM. Then install OpenWrt again.

The only thing i can think off is dd-wrt, used it for a couple of days

(In dd-wrt everything worked)

Nice, now ewerything works. Did as you told me to. Flashed original, then OpenWrt. Thanks alot for your help.

If someday highspeed WiFi works, wilk you post here?

Is anyone using the r6250 with openwrt? How well does it work? Does vlan support work?

Hi there, i just flashed open wrt on my r6250.  I cannot speak to the vlan support but i ultimately went back to the stock firmware because the wireless performance was so incredibly bad.  My download speeds went from 60/70mbps to under 1 mbps.  This is too bad because i really dig the other features of open wrt.
