Topic: RT5350 SDK and user manual

The content of this topic has been archived on 29 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

As I am still playing around with my HAME MiFI F1 (https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=46549) and looked now through several other boot-logs and information, I got almost sure, that none of those companies are producing their software themselves.  Searching around, I figured out, that RALINK, now Mediatek has an SDK, where the manufactures can configure the firmware menudriven through all parts from u-boot, linux.kernel and all embedded tools.
The user manual describes a lot of hardware aspects, how you can drive certain GPIOs and configure the Soc from the running system.

Unfortunately I found up to now no source, to download the SDK (you need version 4.1.0 that RT5350 is covered).

I was only able to read in the User-Manual, but unable to download it.

When you go to the chinese search-engine baidu.com and enter
"RALINK SDK 4.1"
as search term, one of the first entries is a link to the PDF. However that is presented in a browser based reader, where you can read it in full, but print only the first 5 pages.

I found no way downloading the PDF and the corresponding SDK, as all explanations are chinese and google-translate is getting problems with a lot of javascript in this page.

Has anybody managed to get hold on those files or has an idea, where you can get it?

I'm also looking for this. Does anybody know how to dump the current firmware out of the 5350 to update the modem list and flash it back again.

Thanks

Steve

It's a bit difficult to find a free download (at least for me), however for just a few bucks you can get it from enterprising Taobao (sort of a Chinese eBay) sellers such as this one:

You can see changelogs in their screenshots, the latest point releases deal predominantly with the new MT7620. Majority of Chinese companies stick to the old SDK 3.6 for some reason. I can help get these for you if you're willing to PayPal me - as it's quite difficult to trade on Taobao if you're not in China.

No, it's not a bit difficult... Here you can find it for free: https://github.com/stevenylai/ralink_sdk

https://github.com/stevenylai/ralink_sdk is SDK 3.6, that's not hard to get. OP was asking for 4.1, so if you can provide a link, we'd all be grateful. No need for the attitude, I'm just trying to help.

It's 4.0.1.0, not 3.6.

Thanks Pepe,

that is exactly, what I was searching for!  Version 4.0 including Userguide !

You're welcome! smile

You can search "ralink apsoc" in baidu.com.

The discussion might have continued from here.
