@all doing bandwidth tests

I recommend using plain iperf package, not iperf3.

Hello, total noob here.

I have 3 internet connections in house. I have wrt1900ac v1 on my PC. Other 2 connections are wireless. My PC connection is not working properly lately because of service provider. Is there an *easy* way (or a guide) to set up OpenWRT when PPPoE exists to use it, otherwise connect another WiFi network when PPPoE dropped and serve it to LAN?

I've saved myself a whole lotta hurt by running Kong's version of DDWRT.

Just saying.

Observation with .17 driver on 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz

Speeds were fast for 4 days or so, and then saw speed tests drop to 20mbps. I tried several devices and couldn't get above 20mbps. However, after a reboot, speeds went back to normal.

Anyone else see this issue?

I am currently running kong 29020 dd-wrt. it is definatly on it's last strike.I bought the wrt1900acs  a couple of weeks ago because the VM superhub 3 was lacking in features that  I needed  (VPN client). One more squeak from the family about PPI (Piss Poor Internet) and I'll put them all back on the Virgin Media POS and run the linksys in my lab with davidc502's latest offering

@F1uid5

"The Family" test is crucial !

I have had images that I thought were great via speedtests etc., fail miserably when "The Family"
had a couple of hours on the network.................

I have only been up for a little over 3 days but my speeds haven't changed.

I can confirm the same about performance. My V1 device has been up for 4 days. No performance issue so far. The only bad experience so far is once in a while, while I'm on ssh session and typing, it seems there was a pause of a few seconds but then it went back after 2-3 seconds. This can happen at random time and it happened 2-3 times in the period of 4 days so far.

It seems the wireless is down or something. I found no error in my local machine or in the router itself. This may not be related but I have no change in any tools that I use so far except the firmware upgrade and .17 driver.

@Nihilanth

Happy with your device? Any issues so far since running the firmware I gave you? What speeds do you see, both wired and wireless?

What kernel version is in trunk now?

Saw the same behaviour with ssh and lag for several seconds on version 16 as well

Hello mate.

Device worked well for 2.5 days after which I barely managed to get 20 mbps. After a restart the speeds went back to normal. Not sure why this is happening but I suspect it's the wifi driver.

Regarding speeds, I managed to get around 900 mbps on wired and around 450-500 on wireless which I'm quite happy with.

Hopefully they'll fix the main issues soon.

BTW, thanks for sharing your builds with me and whenever you do a new one please share the link.

Every day the wireless went offline with an encryption error. Monday even three times, so i stopped testing and i am using my old router. There is still some work todo i think.

Still in 4.1 by default https://dev.openwrt.org/browser/trunk/t … u/Makefile

BTW, for anyone that is interested, im about to provide some builds (like David's ones, many thanks to him) and, more important if you don't want to build the packages (or don't know how), a full package repository for kernel 4.4.6. Compilation finished this morning and im bringing the website up in a few.

EDIT: Its up !

@mrfreeze  The https site has content, but the http version (linked in your footer) is still saying:

"Work in progress - We'll be up soon, stay tuned smile"

Are you using a self signed cert?  chrome is producing a warning.

If I get some time I'll download and test.

Awesome --

Will simply link to your full package repository as this is in demand by users of the latest 4.4.6 kernel.

Had to take the server down for a quick fsck, will be up in 20 minutes smile

Just refresh your cache it'll go away. I'm using a rewrite to force https.

Regarding the certificate, im using a Startcom SSL cert but i may have forgotten to upload the full cert chain on the server wich can lead to SSL errors in some browser, i'll investigate as soon as the server come back up after the fsck.

A problem in using you Packages Repo with opkg, it doesn't pass the "Signature check". What should I do to fix this problem? Thanks a lot.

Just use the force option

The drop in wireless speed is due to mwlwifi driver, nothing I can do about it. Next build will be with kernel 4.4.7, which is just around the corner.

I know buddy, hopefully they'll fix it properly soon.

I look forward to your next build.
