Yes, it must work in dd-wrt. Please use again serial console to see when power up the router and press the reset button what happens.

I do not believe they removed this option maybe reset button is damaged but let's see

When I press the reset button, nothing happens.

Don't bother with the reset button. It doesn't work on WDR4900. Well not on my v1.3 green light version at-least.

Try to get hold of this serial software http://www.protonbasic.co.uk/content.php/935-Proton-IDE

It allows you to type "tpl" ahead of router booting process (press and hold enter button after typing tpl). I managed to unbrick a router blindly without even soldering the RX pin (no serial display)

Make sure to run it as admin mode otherwise it won't be able to recognize the COM port.

Optional: For TFTP I always use this one: http://www.solarwinds.com/products/free … erver.aspx

And don't forget to turn off windows or any other 3rd party firewall software.

Hi Guys,

it looks like I need your help with my WDR4900 (green-light Edition).

Yesterday I tried to flash the OpenWRT to the OEM firmware. After a reboot I could no longer access the router.

I already tried to install the firmware with TFTP32.

Here, I get the following message:

Connection received from 192.168.0.86 on port 1514 [30/07 12:45:47.341]
Read request for file <wdr4900v1_tp_recovery.bin>. Mode octet [30/07 12:45:47.341]
OACK: <timeout=5,blksize=1468,> [30/07 12:45:47.348]
Using local port 52434 [30/07 12:45:47.348]

There is no auto-reboot after flashing the stock firmware.

A 30/30/30 reset was also unsuccessful.

Is there any chance for my router?

Thx

Conne

Can you access it with ssh ?

Because by default there is no webinterface. (atleast in my installation)

Unfortunately, no.

If i change my network to dhcp i get a 169.254.x.x adress. I tried also to connect with telnet and ssh in the recovery-mod, when the router attempts to reach the 192.168.0.66. only in this time I can ping the router on the 192.168.0.86

But there ist noch connection with putty.

I also tried different OS (WIN7 and WIN8Pro). Only on WIN8 is the flash successful.

Also i tried to change to static IP 192.168.1.10 and tried to connect the router on 192.168.1.1 without success.

The discussion might have continued from here.
