Topic: wap54g with ro fs - Failsave?

Hello,

I have got a wap54g with OpenWrt installed (WAP54GHowto). I installed it to get a backup of the configuration-files "/etc". Then I created an image using the ImageBuilderHowTo.
It worked fine.

But how to get the access point into the failsave mode, to flash the new firmware? I found a howto on freifunk.net, I should hold the reset-button up to blinking the LED's in front of the ap. But it did not work.

I'm still able to login via telnet, but there is no way to write on /etc.

Thank you!

Two options, in order to be able of tftp the firmware you don't need failsave mode, only "boot wait", sadly the original firmware has it disable, so put any other firmware that give you acces by telnet and set boot_wait to 1, You could also use this firmware:

That it is mentioned on:
http://freifunk.net/wiki/FreifunkFirmwareEnglish

And about failsave, I was able to boot on it, by pressing the button several time at boot, not by just holding it down.

Thank you! I got it working using the mtd utility!
