HI and thanks for everything
i used the updated firmware by zhadoom and it pass sucssfuly but now i have no wireless any idae ?
icant find not the 2.4 g and not the 5 g
(i did factory default after using puuty)
Would it be possible for someone to confirm the default NAT Table on the w9980, the w8980 is set to a rather low 5020
w9980 firmware seems to work perfectly on my w8970 v1
Hi,
I have a 9980B modem, is it possible to flash to 9980?
maybe required a crossflash even if with the same series?
Thanks

Installed the 9980_V1 over serial on a 9980B version and went well.
Modem is now recognized as 9980_V1 and can load directly the 9980_V1 firmware through webpage.
Hi, do you know if there are hardware differences between TD-9980 and TD-9980B?
i am not able to connect to xDSL with the cross-flashed 9980B -> 9980 firmware to use outside Germany.
thanks
A *B in Germany? I guess it's an Annex B modem, while the TD-9980 is an Annex A. Yes, there could be differences. As Annex B (ISDN) uses a bigger frequency domain for itself, other input filters are used, which disables the lower frequencies for xDSL.
Hi, what version of OpenWRT supports TP-Link TD-W9980 ? What about support for OpenWRT v15.05 ?
And can someone confirm if xDSL/VDSL is working?

There is no specific image for 9980 yet.
The xdsl/vdsl works perfectly since is the same chipset used in Tplink 8970.
The hardware support include xdsl/vdsl2, wifi 2.4GHz ( in trunk ), lacking drivers to 5.8GHz wifi chip ( WAVE300 ).
Hello,
I tried to install OpenWrt on my TP-Link TD-W9980 and the wifi didn't work.
Then, when I tried to flash back the original firmware of TP-Link I accidentally erased (a part of) the caldata partition.
Now my TP-Link is booting and everything but the wifi obviously can't work.
Does anybody here has a backup or can get me a copy of his caldata partition?
If someone can help me it would be great because it should be easy and it will save my router.
Thanks!
How can a hard reset help me?
From what I've seen the caldata partition holds data that cannot be restored from a simple hard reset.
I do all steps and modem dont start. This is putty screen:

Does anybody here with cross-flashed TD-W9980B to TD-W9980 made it work with Annex A line? Thanks!
Hi everyone, today I installed this version of OpenWRT on my W9980
https://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots … pgrade.bin
Everything works fine, except for the wifi... I can't find it on LuCI!
Do I need to install a specific package for this router?

Have a look in your dmesg logs. I expect an error.

Everything works fine, except for the wifi... I can't find it on LuCI!
Do I need to install a specific package for this router?
Have a look in your dmesg logs. I expect an error.
...so?
Hi all,
I'm already flash openWrt on my 9980 and configured it to connect to the internet via VDSL.
And also bring up the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
Now I want to bring up 5 GHz but I cannot see any information about this chip on my terminal monitor.
I understand that I'm not install the 5 GHz's driver yet, how can I install this driver (Lantiq WAVE 300)?
Is it will be something like "# opkg install kmod-ath9k" same as I install on 2.4 GHZ?
I've try to download this file : lq-wave-300-03.01.00.12.31.09.58ada131737d.src.tar.gz
but I don't sure how to install it on my openWrt or is it work for my chip ?
thanks.

Hi @apirak.pu
Actually you can't use 5GHz WiFi because there are not open source firmware or driver for the Lantiq WAVE 300 chipset.
If you found a .bin file with the firmware you can place it on /lib/firmware and see if it works
However, how did you manage to enable 2.4GHz? I'm out of ideas

Hi gerrydoro, to enable 2.4 GHz wireless please follow this steps :
# opkg update

# opkg install hostapd
# reboot
and you'll see /etc/config/wireless file has auto create.
next config it follow this guide
