Topic: Asus WL-500G Deluxe hardware WPA2 support?

The content of this topic has been archived on 7 May 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

All information I can find about this says it's "compatible" or "able" to use WPA2. Is this by hardware or software? As I understand, hardware support shoud be able to handle higher wifi throughput.

And while I'm at it, if it doesn't support wpa2 by hardware, does it support wpa-psk (tkip) or WPA+AES by hardware?

Seems like no one really knows about this, anyway...maybe some technical forum member has missed this post, so I'll give it a last bump. Please forgive for me doing so.

No idea about "hardware" versus "software", but the WL-500G Deluxe does work with both WPA and WPA2 (although WPA2 only as AP or routed client, not bridged client, and is possibly broken for WDS too although I've not tried that). If it works fast enough for your needs, then does it matter?
