Topic: TP-Link TL-MR3420 v2.3 Bricked - Need Help

The content of this topic has been archived on 28 Mar 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

I have a MR3420 v2.3. Tried to flash it for the first time with the only software on site under "trunk"
http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/ … actory.bin

It went pretty smoothly, its just that i had no idea it does not have a web interface. So, I decided to bring it back to the original firmware but somehow it failed. Now I have a router that keeps blinking all its lights.

I tried soldering the usb cable as well with tx,rx, and gnd. But this does not work either with tftp. I probably need a resistor for this cable to work properly. Problem: where to get it and secondly, according to instructions I need to connect TX and VCC while the usb is connected to pc.

I need help to:

1. Un-brick this Router
2. Install and firmware that has Luci or any other web interface.

Will the v1 firmware work on this?

Would appreciate any help.

What usb ttl serial adapter are you using? Post pictures of your connections..

First of all sorry for the delay.

I am using a standard USB cable from my phone charger. As mentioned before, I am using three cables as described at couple of websites i have seen so far. I have also been able to get hold of a 10k ohm resistor. If I connect VCC to TX with that resistor, will it work?

Pictures have been attached. Thank you for your help.
