Hello all,

I have following setup .

Linux Laptop Running Ubuntu with wifi USB card and internal wireless card ---->  Connected to internet through linksys ADSL router on internal wireless card.

I have vmplayer installed and Openwrt image compiled from trunk running. I also have wifi USB driver installed on my host machine.
my question is how can i turn this openwrt image into AP  ?

Any help is really appreciated ?

For one thing you have to know the chipset of the USB wifi dongle and install the appropriate kmod to your openwrt image. then it should be fine.

Its Tp-link TL-wn722n. I did kmod for the same, but still not able to see the wifi usb interface inside openwrt.

Also it will be helpful if someone can give me example to do the same

Unplug -- replug the dongle then check dmesg for any errors from the driver.  That dongle requires a firmware file: https://github.com/qca/open-ath9k-htc-firmware
