Topic: Asus RT-N56U internal layout

Hi,

Installed Barrier Breaker on my n56u and was thinking of converting it into a layer 2 or layer 3 switch but i am unsure of how the internal ports connect to each other. What i can see is that:

Port 0-3 = Lan switch ports
Port 4 = Wan port
Port 5-7 = ?
Port 8 = Seems to be connected to the wan and lan ports
Port cpu = ?
Wifi 1-2 = ?

Does anyone have a picture of the n56u internal layout like the picture below of the wl-500g?

This is a great question. Any findings? I blocked port 8 and that made all ports blocked. Basically made is a smart brick. Soft reset and flashe'd to get it back. Trying to configure a dmz so it would be nice to have a map for cpu.

The discussion might have continued from here.
