Topic: Unbrick TP-Link 1043nd using SPI chip flashing

The content of this topic has been archived on 23 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Hello,

I've already desoldered my SPI flash chip (as the unbrick guide wrote: http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl- … debricking - there is no word about the serial console), and I want to flash it before I solder it back.

Unfortunately, I can't find a proper bootloader - I have no other device, I can gather from. I have a v1.8.

Thank you!

The latest firmware image from TP-Link (140319) is labeled as including the boot loader. Related note, it's worth saving a copy of the current flash just in case something goes sideways. First time i flashed one i accidentally overwrote the factory calibration data at the end of the rom.

I've already flashed it, but I didn't bother with the last bytes - unfortunately I don't have the backup image. Will it cause any troubles?
