"using serial once it has finished booting press enter and the prompt should appear, I just got mine 2 weeks ago and I was able to log on and get the information I posted above ."

Thx, i had the same problem !

Hello,
I just bought a brand new wa901nd and it's a v5 version.
I bought it from amazon in France.
Do I need to create a new thread for this model and what info do anybody need in order to give me some information about a future OpenWRT for this model.
Thanks a lot.
If needed, I can open it for pictures no problem.

v5 is neither supported by OpenWrt nor by LEDE.
Since this thread here is about v4, please open a new one for v5.

Can you add me too, my username is cortexlegeni. Thanks in advance.

After installing the firmware "factory.bin" which I downloaded in the corresponding topic: https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/hwdata/tp- … a901nd_v4, I could not log into the web interface "Luci", the commands /etc/init.d/uhttpd enable and /etc/init.d/uhttpd start do not work, Telnet does not work, SSH works using PuTTY
and WinSCP put "sysupgrade.bin" in the folder "mtd" and made the installation, after which the router rebooted, but still could not turn on the interface commands: /etc/init.d/uhttpd enable and /etc/init.d/uhttpd start . WiFi also does not work. How to be?

You installed a snapshot image. Snapshots do not come with LuCI preinstalled, you have to install it yourself.

Thanks for the answer, my router does not have access to the Internet and therefore I can not download packages, but now I know the way out of this situation thanks to posts from this topic.

Hello,

can we have an updated Image with fix for KRACK?

THANKS

Please add me to fire-wrt forum to download the Factory and Update binaries.  Username = Andrew.ROBBIE (on fire-wrt also)

I tried to manually add the Luci package to my snapshot, but it didn't work.  So looking forward to having Luci on my TP-Link v4 WAP...

Many thanks,

Andrew

I'm not familiar with LEDE.  What UI does that use?  Any benefits over Open-WRT?

From https://lede-project.org/:

The LEDE Project (“Linux Embedded Development Environment”) is a Linux operating system based on OpenWrt.

There was a split of OpenWrt which resulted in LEDE.
Now, roughly 1.5 years after, LEDE and OpenWrt will be merging again, taking the LEDE source as base.
LEDE GUI = LuCI.

A general note on TL-WA901ND v4: It has only 4MB flash / 32MB RAM, which can be a problem.
Details see https://lede-project.org/meta/infobox/432_warning
