Hello,

i want to upgrade my TP-Link TL-WR1043ND v1 with dd-wrt to OpenWRT. I have found this old thread, and wanted to ask if this is still the way to go: https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=25003

Which way is better:

1.) Flash the TL-WR1043ND v1 to the original Firmware (from here: http://ch.tp-link.com/support/download/ … rsion=V1). Is it possible to do this with the WebGUI?

Flash the latest Open-Wrt Image over the WebGUI?

or

2.) Flash directly from dd-wrt to Open-WRT?

Thanks!

Similar question here except I've got a v 2.1. The previous owner put dd-wrt on it and I want to put openwrt instead. I don't understand why it is necessary to flash it back to stock firmware, but of course am capable of doing so. Can anyone offer an explanation of why I can't just flash a recent openwrt or LEDE to this device using the dd-wrt web gui? Sorry for resurrecting this old thread, but it's the most recent discussion I could find of the issue I'm facing. Thanks
