Topic: wap223nc - AMER ( How to swap Firmware?? )

The content of this topic has been archived on 25 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

I am not sure if what I am trying to do is even possible but I figured this would be the best place to ask.

I have an old AP that once connected to a cloud service.  It was from a company called AMER.    The AP appears to be a UniFi AP and I would like to know if it is possible to change from the current AMER firmware to the UniFi firmware.

This is what I currently have:

Router Name    amerAP
Router Model    Ubiquiti UniFi
Firmware Version    OpenWrt Firmware Attitude Adjustment (r28310) / LuCI Trunk (trunk+svn)
Kernel Version    2.6.39.4

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Time to break out the screwdriver and open it up!  See what is inside and if you can connect directly to the device.  I'm new to hacking devices, but helps if you have USB to TTL serial cable so you can view the bootlog as the device boots up (assuming a serial connection is available inside your device).  Welcome to the world of exploring OpenWrt devices!...
