Topic: Linksys WRT1900ACS OpenWRT performance vs. Linksys firmware FW_WRT1900

Hi I am quite new to OpenWRT but has tried this on Netgear3500L with succes.
I have a brand new Linksys WRT1900ACS must be hardware version 1.

The reason for would like to install OPENWRT is
1. better control over the system
2.Traffic logging ( how do i implement this )
3.Having control over which ports are open.
4. More benefits
5. Optimize Transmission power

After installing https://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_cal … mada-38...
The speed measured by WiFi Explore on MAC Pro was:
2.4 GHz Linksys firmware 600 Mbps ( today 289 Mbps ) on OPENWRT 197 Mbps
5.X GHz Linksys firmware 1300 Mbps on OpenWrt 930 Mbps

I tried and followed more YOUTUBE Video examples ( for the WRT1900AC running OPENWRT) with different settings but never achived the same speed as with the Linksys firmware.

What is the best performance for LInksys WRT1900ACS with OpenWrt?
Can the power be peeked ex. to 1 watt?
Can traffic login be implemented?
Is the openwrt I installed the best for this router?

Be so kind to Search before posting. The forum is flooded with WRT1900ACS posts.

15.05-rc3 is old, you might want to retest with 15.05.1 or trunk even.

I recommend trying trunk as it has a lot of improvements over RC3.

As for 1 Watt Wifi Output.. Any channel on 2.5 Ghz, but only Certain channels on 5Ghz as per FCC Requirements.

Thanks for response, is the firmware for WRT1900AC and WRT1900ACS the same?
Is traffic loggin a possibility?

The wrt1900acs is slightly different, it's codename is shelby.

Traffic logging is possible on any linux.

The discussion might have continued from here.
