Topic: ZTE ZXHN F660 openwrt support

The content of this topic has been archived on 30 Mar 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Hello everyone.

This device is not still supported by OpenWRT. Maybe it is not so common but its hardware may work with Openwrt. It has 128 mb nand, 1 usb port.

I managed to conect to the serial console, 115200 8 n 1.

If you press the reset button while powering it on, appears an option to upload an update from 192.168.1.100

TFTP from server 192.168.1.100; our IP address is 192.168.1.1
Filename 'upgrade.bin'
Load address: 0x2000000
Loading: T T T T

maybe someone has already diescovered this. maybe not. I am up to any further steps to support this device.

It sounds supportable. https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/hwdata/zte … xhnf660_23

The first steps are to collect as much detail about it as possible. Open it up take some photos, identify the chips and the serial connector (sounds like you have already). Links to factory images (binaries), GPL source code (if any). Capture a full boot log. You can take a look at what I went through to try and support another device (EVG2000) https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=63950

thanks xotic ! i am going to gather some more data for this device. Checking on internet i found russians have done work on this. they run stuff on chrooted environments but not openwrt sad

I have plenty of F660's available in various hardware and firmware versions.  Also have plenty of its successor; the F609.

Let me know if I can help.  I don't mind bricking a couple in the process.  I could also ship some if needed.

Telnet details

I tested them and i can establish a telnet session. Which info should we extract now that we can use telnet?. The device itself already runs on linux.
