Topic: davidc502 1900ac 3200acm builds

The content of this topic has been archived between 26 Feb 2018 and 7 May 2018. Unfortunately there are posts – most likely complete pages – missing.

Graph of the last 24 hours on the 3200acm.  After the black line, is when the new image with new wifi driver was flashed.

So far the fix is doing its job.

Any news on the V1 reboots?

Love it! I absolutely love it! ~375mbps down 105mbps up on my iphone! Can't complain! XD

EDIT: Oh and no ram leak, stable at 305mb available!

Although I can't argue that is good, the numbers on the graphs don't add up anymore. I am in the middle of a 45 minute download, I should see some variation - this feels TOO stable.

look at 'status overview memory' numbers and compare.
I can't post an image.

@davidc502, darkmatter is not working in the latest build ... opkg config reads:

src/gz reboot_telephony https://davidc502sis.dynamic-dns.net/snapshots/r4114/packages/arm_cortex-a9_vfpv3/telephony
#src/gz reboot_darkmatter https://davidc502sis.dynamic-dns.net/snapshots/r4114/packages/arm_cortex-a9_vfpv3/darkmatter

It should be the other way around...

Then do

root@RouterACS:~# opkg install luci-theme-darkmatter
Installing luci-theme-darkmatter (git-17.010.73729-fd88e48-1) to root...

Configuring luci-theme-darkmatter.
uci: Parse error (too many arguments) at line 21, byte 128

Even with the error ( not sure what it means ) , it works.

Yes, I also got surprised with material skin (I tihnk? - blue)

then again, I kept my settings.

Well... since the new release has the default theme, even though I chose "keep my settings", it reverted to it from Darkmatter. I had to do what I've explained above to go back to darkmatter smile

@davidc502 Will you be building kernel 4.4.* images this time?

Will start building tonight, and will post it out to the server tomorrow.

Thanks @davidc502!

Is there anything wrt1900ac v1 users can do to help find the cause of the reboots?

Stay active on the LEDE thread and continue to request this be looked at by the developers.

This is the first rom I ever flashed on my Rango device, seems to work well!
Thanks David!

My Noob Question: How to switch off all LEDs (except Power LED) like the stock rom do?

The router is under my TV, a little distracting as it blinks tongue

I haven't tried this so let us know:
https://lede-project.org/docs/user-guid … figuration

Downloaded r4114 and it's been running on my Rango since almost 6 hours now. WiFi is stable, free memory is consistently around 60%. The other two issues (no values in LuCI and TX power can't be set to more than 20 dBm) persist.

Thanks for your work, David!

You can't turn off the Wifi Leds (2.4ghz and 5ghz) or even modify their behavior.  Their behavior is built into the wifi (mwlwifi) driver. (for instance you'll see the wlan_2g and wlan_5g LEDs in the dropdown list, but nothing will change their behavior).

But you can configure the internet LED to stop flashing, and most likely even turn it off.  Settings are in Luci (192.168.1.1) -> System -> LED Configuration.  The first one, named WAN, controls the internet LED.
And you may be able to add an entry for the power LED to turn it off.

The LAN LEDs (although they are named very odd things -- you'll have to try and see which controls which) MAY be controlled by driver as well and cannot be modified like the WiFi ones, not sure.

The easiest way is to put something small in front of it... or use a strip of tape.

For the past 2 or 3 releases I've had the minor annoyance of the Luci web interface not coming up without a reboot after several hours of uptime. Any idea what would cause this? The router appears perfectly fine otherwise.

Yeah I love this build. Up for 19 hours now and memory is just fine. I use my router for IPTV too so it's going through quite a bit of constant traffic.

@davidc502, the following are out in the Lede repo:

base-files - 172-r4114-6704410 - 172-r4119-1a16cb9
wpad-mini - 2016-12-19-ad02e79d-2 - 2016-12-19-ad02e79d-3

kmod-cfg80211 - 4.9.20+2017-01-31-1 - 4.9.20+2017-01-31-2

I've tried installing everything "BUT" base-files as instructed by guru @starcms , but it woudln't allow me to given the dependencies.

Collected errors:
 * satisfy_dependencies_for: Cannot satisfy the following dependencies for kmod-mwifiex-sdio:

xargs: opkg: exited with status 255; aborting

I guess you'll have to do a new build, wouldn't you? sad

I have r4049 and have added and removed packages with luci and opkg without problems. Did you update your packages list first? Did you change your repo? The original opkg config was fine out of the box with no changes needed (for caiman).

@beginner67890 : You're right in what you're doing, but some of us here right after installing David's build switch to the lede official repositories to have the most current version of the packages in between David's builds. That's how I realized there are some updates that I've mentioned above available ... you'll have to copy and paste this into your opkg config:

# LEDE Packages to use in between david's upgrades

@mariano.silva

switch to the lede official repositories

Your attempts show installing the kernel modules from a different repo requires a different kernel. Maybe the simple programs wouldn't have those giant problems except I think that is too big of a risk. Good luck.

I should let the expert risk takers explain...

That is why I was asking Dave to recompile ... OPKG will "protect" you from doing something silly like updating kernel modules for a different kernel version smile

I noticed the same thing today
