Topic: Low datarate of SD card interface via wifi.

I have used Luci web interface to configure the SD card interface on router.

I have used free gpios of the wifi chipset to interact with SD card interface.

The problem I am seeing is, when I stream the content of SD card via wifi to a mobile phone, I am seeing low data rates unlike USB interface.

Is it because I am using SD driver that uses gpio? gpios typically take lot of processor time trying to perform like SPI ?
