Does anybody know if when I flash new firmware on, let's say, wrt54g with original firmware, the bootloader flash area is changed? And what is the bootloader used by OpenWRT? Is it CFE from original firmware or some other bootloader? Does it change bootloader flash area during flashing?

No, the boot loader is not changed. Unless you intentionally and specifically change it, it remains unmodified throughout the life of your router.
