The color picker got weird somehow.
When I click on green, I get brown
When I click on white, I get blue...
And there is no black option.
But teh ALT values are right.
This is r801

Also...
I just went to the webif and upgraded it. No password was requested, so I assumed I was still logged in, even though I had turned off my desktop for the night.
But when I clicked on "system" it asked for the password. Which means that the webif does not ask for a password if I want to upgrade it.
Shouldn't it ask for the password?

Updating via the web interface is fabulous, seriously
BTW: I have submitted a couple of bugs to berlios. You use the bug tracker there, right?

mtsales: I will check into the text on the logread_frame.sh no showing up correctly. The color changer should work on any of the pages in the newer packages. The time option is a good idea. We need translators, please contact myself or db90h if you would like to help out on the front.
jp: The reason it allowed you to upgrade without out logging in is because the button appears on the 1 page that doesn't require a password, this maybe moved for a release. The color changer is having a few issues with with selecting the correct color currently.
jakaj: Thanks, and yes we do use the bug tracker there.
3 more things:
- I really think all of the pages (so info.sh also) should require a password, or at least have the possiblity to turn it on.
- The "Custom Startup" script should be saved in NVRAM and only executed by an init script in /etc/init.d. It's how dd-wrt also does it, and I think it's nice to have all the configuration stored in NVRAM.
- A NVRAM backup(download) and restore page would be cool.

Hopefully this password for ALL pages would be a feature that can be turned on and off. I like it the way it is and propably other people like it this way too.
Custom startup script in init.d is a good movement as after RC6 release, there should be a jump to kamikaze afaik, so it's great that we are slowly moving out from using nvram since kamikaze won't have nvram..
If you want to use static ip, webif^2 won't show field for setting your ip address.. (atleast not with firefox)
Thanks for nice ui. This is really great.
EDIT: seems to be working properly on latest revision.. Sorry..
EDIT2:
I don't know if I'm just having a wild imagination.. but I am pretty sure that v4 router boots faster than v1 router.
When it has booted, v1 beats v4 in speed anytime for e.g. when installing stuff with ipkg..
Well anyway, I have upnpd, my ipv6 script, manual setup for route to my DSL modem, ntpclient and radvd starting during boot. Everything else is like on a default installation..
I noticed that boot timeout 45 isn't enough.. I needed 57 seconds so I changed timeout to 60 seconds..
EDIT3:
Heh, reason for slow bootup might also be because I have set bootwait's wait time to 10..
but even if it has 1, 45 seconds isn't quite enough. I think timeout should default to 50 seconds and
it should check how long bootwait has been set to take and increase that to 50 seconds..
Not so hard to implement..
But when I clicked on "system" it asked for the password. Which means that the webif does not ask for a password if I want to upgrade it.
Shouldn't it ask for the password?

Good point .
What's up with the color picker? My tests show it seems to do ok.. I did change a few things in a recent revision with the addition of the black color and sorting of the colors from light to dark. Can anyone confirm it's broken and give me web browser, OS, and steps to reproduce?
I found the color switcher bug - the cookie is getting screwed up. I am fixing it now.
The color switcher works now! :-)
Thanks for the good work.

Hi.
In "Systm information", there is no reference to the current time and date.
It would be nice to have the time and date, converted to the time zone configured in the router.
The time has been added as a feature request to our tracker.
The color switcher works now! :-)
Thanks for the good work.

Don't be surprised if it breaks again. I just did a temporary hack to get it working. If it does happen again, deleting all cookies from your router's domain should fix it. A proper fix will be forthcoming after I investigate the issue more thoroughly.

Milestone 1 is released as r862. We have much more left to do, but this build should be quite useful and usable. Thanks to all users who've provided feedback and assistance. I hope that you will continue to do so as development advances.
As always, we need contributors to this project and to other X-Wrt projects. Anyone is welcome to join the effort. Join us on #x-wrt on freenode, or PM/email me or thepeople.
Since I've been throwing up screenshots here, I figured I'd add a couple new ones. This file browser and editor is based on some unfinished code of nbd's. I finished it up and did a little polishing. No doubt I'll continue polishing indefinitely, as I have obsessively on all the other pages .
Browser:
Editor:
I've seen a asterisk.sh "extension" to webif. Is there a chance to install it if asterisk is installed? Every .sh file located under webif that is not part of webif installation gets removed when installing a new version. It's a bit annoying to copy asterisk.sh manually everytime webif is upgraded.
Regarding the text editor...that's cool!
I would suggest to have the iframe with 100% width as there are files with a lot of chars per line.
I would also suggest to have direct links to mount folders for "direct access" as well as some "important" folders under root (like /etc, for example).

The 'delete it all' approach was a temporary fix that stuck. I'll work on changing this.
As far as asterisk pages, I'd love to see those added. I've also seen them around, but will have to look and find them. Perhaps someone who uses asterisk wants to undertake this task.
Thanks for the file editor suggestions.

do you have a link for the asterisk page, I should be able to add it in if someone will test it.
Look here: http://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=5534
Cheers
Ok, that page has been added, it has not been tested yet. The next update will likely include a bunch of new funtionality that I have been working on merging back from another openwrt offshoot.
Glad to see my page (asterisk) added in the package
If you need changes, just let me know...
PS: I'm also an x-wrt user, great job !!

the question I have for you is does the default path in your asterisk page the same path as a default install of asterisk? It looks to be a nice page :-)
EDIT: I should also note that if you want write access to the x-wrt tree get a hold of either myself or db90h

The only path that is in the script for now is the path to the config files, that is pointing to the default installation (/etc/asterisk). Actually it must be changed manualy on top of the script. If the defaults are not used, an exported path have to be added to the system (or hard-coded in the script) to make the asterisk binary available from the command line, as it can be done with a telnet.
The script is very simple and is usefull to have some "quick looks" to endpoints softwares, hardwares or operators, look at open asterisk chanels and modify the .conf files. Other manual commands can be run from frontend but it's not really "managing" the PBX.
I will work with you with pleasure on your "x-wrt" site if some enhancements are necessary.

I've neglected to post many updates the last couple weeks, but we've been busier than ever. We've made extraordinary progress and every passing day brings a webif superior to the day before. We've added a NUMBER of new pages and all the screen shots are very out-dated at this point.
We are preparing a Milestone 2 release, an exponential upgrade over Milestone 1. Even once Milestone 2 is released, we will still be considered in beta, but people can rest assured Milestone 2 is a stable snapshot.
We are making final changes now and need users to actively test the builds we are posting.
I don't keep this thread updated anymore, and those screenshots are all out of date. We've made amazing progress.
Here's the latest ...
