Topic: Unable connect 3G using simcard slot

Hello,

Currently I'm working with ZBT WE826-T(E) using OS Openwrt LuCI Trunk (svn-r10457) OpenWrt Barrier Breaker. Unfortunately when I'm inserting simcard on simcard slot, I couldn't connect 3G. Checked on console using dmesg : no found anything, I'm also can't find log that simcard detected.

Kindly someone can help me for fix this issue.

Thanks

First, Barrier Breaker is obsolete, you should use Chaos Calmer 15.05.1

Second, do you have any modem module fitted?  3G functions come from the optional modem module.  The SIM card slot is connected to the modem, not the router CPU.  The module you need depends on which cellular network you are subscribing to.

Once you have a modem, you will then need to install drivers for it.

Thanks for your response.

First, I can try update to Chaos Calmer, do you have any guide for this?

Second, I bought built in on modem router that support simcard slot. so, I think have modem module for 3G function. Or, could you give advice to check this?

Actually, I also want to know if driver installed correctly or  not, but I don't know how to check this.

I am apology because this is first time using modem with openwrt OS.

WE826 is officially supported. Just flash a new image. You might try LEDE, too, for an image.
BTW: I also use the WE826 for certain special apps.

About modem:

BUT!
git://github.com/openwrt/openwrt.git does no have a WE826 as a target.
Old git://git.openwrt.org/openwrt.git have WE826 support, but create image impossible due to errors.
So really WE826 is not supported now.

The discussion might have continued from here.
