Hi everybody!
I bought TL-WDR8400 , menu is Chinese . Maybe it has backdoors . So can I upgrade openwrt for it? Has anyone ever used it?
It used qca9561-al3a & qca9984 chipset. I have just opened it last night.
Thanks

Look up the flash and RAM chip numbers to see the size. TPlink makes a lot of "China only" models with small memories and non-Linux firmware to fit them.

Thank for reply mk24!
It used winbond 25q64fvsig flash & M14D1G1664A 2.5B ram.
Most likely:
25q64fvsig = 64 Mbit = 8 MB
M14D1G1664A = 8M x 16 Bit x 8 Banks = 128 MB
That should be enough for OpenWrt. It's another question if it's ported or if anyone will do it.

Hi Hiroshi,
Did you manage to install openwrt on the device?
Thanks in advance!
