Hey guys,
I'm working on a project of location recognition using these routers. Any clue on how can I load openWrt to this hardware, since it's not supported by OpenWrt yet, I'm wondering if there's any hack possible to load it?

According to wikidevi, there seems to be no major difference to the V4. So, you could try flashing such an image from uboot (to avoid the check of the correct HWID). Or patch the existing TPLINK_HWID in the image from 0x09010004 to 0x09010005.
