How long does a package take to be updated and be available under opkg, using the default OpenWrt repositories?

I'm asking that because there was a release of a series of critical vulnerabilities released yesterday by Google Security team on dnsmasq. I run an application that relies on dnsmasq (as other things).

So, how can I compile it myself (build the enviroment for it) or when do you think that this would be available on the repo (not really asking for you to do it, just wanted to know how these updates are handled)?

Use LEDE. The 17.01.3 release is currently being built.

Check the repo, builds are happening but take time. If you build your own image the patch.
