Topic: No WAN activity on Linksys EA3500

The content of this topic has been archived on 7 May 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

I am attempting to try OpenWrt on my Linksys EA3500.

I have attempted to build an image from source, but the flash fails silently and default firmware is restored (without de-bricking) after the flash.  I admittedly haven't spent much time trying to figure out why.

Using the build from snapshot/trunk, the flash is successful and I can SSH in and see the router, but unfortunately that seems to be the only thing I can do.   I cannot get a connection to the outside world:

Pinging an outside IP (8.8.8.8) says destination unreachable.
There is no activity lights on my WAN port.
My cable modem shows no activity on its end either.
Power cycling the modem doesn't have an effect.

I cannot find someone experiencing the same issue I am.  Could it be my modem?  It is Arris TM822A from Charter Cable here in the US.

Given my limited understanding from reading the wiki my settings network settings seem okay:

dmesg doesn't show anything that stands out to me.

Please let me know if you need more information, and thank you for your help.
