Topic: AP's failed to work

The content of this topic has been archived on 30 Apr 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

All of a sudden I lost all internet connectivity.  I hooked up my wireless AP and all 4 led's where blinking solid.  Eventuality the AP's where locked out.  I lost all internet connectivity.

}-------------------------AP1(WDS Master)

                                 SSID-G1

AP2      AP3       AP4     AP5

ALL other AP's are WDS clients and push out the above SSID's.  What should I do to fix it.  I am very concerned that It now takes down my network.

Additional details I turn the replaced the AP0, with AP5.  I have the same issue.  The other thing I found is that my modem keeps locking the AP's out.  I have made no issues until this morning.

Anybody got any idea's?  I am on suddenlink in NC.

Check for hardware fault like faulty power supply?

If the repeater AP's are running AP interfaces with the same SSID as the master AP, they need to have bssid set in the client interface to force them to connect to the right place (usually the master AP, unless you need to make a chain of hops between the repeaters).  Otherwise the repeater APs may connect to each other in a loop, and no one in that loop will have access to the Internet since there is no connection to the master.

It works best to use your DSL modem as a bridge so it is not doing any DHCP, routing or firewalling.  The OpenWrt router connected pppoe to the modem will handle that.

I currently use a provided cable modem.  What I am seeing is werid.  The activity LEDs are blinking solid.  I took a spare and replaced ap that was acting up with all other AP's turned off.  Within 30 seconds the new being turned on it locked the replacement ap out.

I have support coming out, I hope they replace my cable modem.
