Try "resetting" db:

# rm /var/harddisk/asus/mt-daapd/var/cache/mt-daapd/songs3.db

any good news about new builds?

Hi

@TheDrake
Sorry for answering late. I think you're right...
I thought it is easy to use the kernel of netgear source because the DG834Nv2 lokks like it is almost the same hardware as the wl-600g. But it seems to be just more than copy and paste.

What do you mean?

If you would like to use opendns for name resolution, just set opendns fixed ip addresses in the original web interface.

BTW: I would like to "brand" next build. Do you like it? big_smile

Bye,
Paolo.

Looks nice big_smile you like anime tongue?

I know its too soon to start requesting features but have you ever thought about the possibility to add more providers to the Dynamic Dns ?

A working (newer) ddnsd client is needed. I agree.

Any info about it in other similar builds?

Bye,
Paolo.

Hi guys!

Anything you can do about the usb-serial module? I need it for an Huawei E220 as a backup link. I guess pppd is able to handle a dial-up connection, isn't it? I mean, it's not that stripped down, is it?

Thanks for the great work!

I'll include USBSERIAL (generic) installable module in next build, but I don't know if it'll work with your modem.

Bye,
Paolo.

Might worth having all the usb-serial drivers included. There are several chipsets out there that might worth having them supported.

I've just noticed the webcam section. Any ideas on which models it supports? Or maybe which drivers are included?

Thank you for your time,
Adrian

PS: please let me know if you need a hand or anything. I can help you on building these babies, host the project, or even develop a custom firmware creation web app.

in BEZEQ ddns client have seven preinstalled servers:
DynDNS.org (Free)
DynDNS.org (Custom)
DynDNS.org (Dynamic)
TZO.com
DtDNS.com
NO-IP.com
zoneedit.com

also may be from BEZEQ we can take pppd client? to enhance functionality?
on pppoe.html we can find some interest options:
- Keep Alive
- Obtain default gateway automatically or Use the following default gateway
- Retry PPP password on authentication error
- Bridge PPPoE Frames Between WAN and Local Ports (Default Enabled)

and also natcfg2.html where we can enable/disable NAT and FireWall

also pvccfg.html where:
Enable Quality Of Service

Enabling packet level QoS for a PVC improves performance for selected classes of applications.  QoS cannot be set for CBR and Realtime VBR.  QoS consumes system resources; therefore the number of PVCs will be reduced. Use Advanced Setup/Quality of Service to assign priorities for the applications.
Enable Quality Of Service

in other firmware on pppoe.html I find
Enable MAC Clone:

That's awesome!QoS from wl600g is very poor.

Maybe it's not so easy, we have to check the scripting from those pages.
I'm having  a weird problem, if i let my router connected for a long time, i open a page and it says not found if i open it again it loads, maybe dns problems?

It happens to me also. By some chance you are from Romania? Using Romtelecom? big_smile
I'll try using some global DNS servers, maybe even some of the root servers. More, could this be a setting/feature in the firmware image, TheDrake?

I'm from portugal friend smile i'm must be a software problem then smile

It could depend on a lot of factors, starting from open apps on router, traffic, open programs on client, dns settings, OS version, browser version and more.

I need an IP packet capture of dns trafic to trace it.

BTW, check if your router swaps on disk when you start browsing.

Bye,
Paolo.

I don't believe in coincidence, i use firefox 3 and i'm not using any software with the router (no usb pen).
Should swapping improve performance? If it does i'll start using a pen.
I checked the modemboard.net page, is this the most updated hdd (wl600_hd_0526.tar.gz) package?
Btw how's the netgear driver implementation going on?

Thanks

Does anybody noticed that free is only reporting about 13MB of RAM? I know there should be 16MB, isn't it?

Some ram is used for ramdrive/buffers for sure. Some other form kernel and drivers, ecc... If you know how to release more mem, please tell us!

I don't belive in coincidence too. But I need more debug info from you.

If behavior is reproducible, please tell me how to reproduce it (try it) or trace problem on router on the lan and on the client.

Are you using an ADSL annex A, PPPoA, vista 32, fixed IP config on client, cabled LAN, provider dynamic assigned DNS, WiFi enabled, WPA2, DHCP enabled like me?

Have you tried to query DNS with nslookup for same address before browsing?

I don't think that an USB key should change behavior. At least it should not change it... smile

This is a Beta software: some knowledge and debugging experience is needed. smile

Feedback are welcome!

Bye,
Paolo.
