The content of this topic has been archived on 2 May 2018. There are no obvious gaps in this topic, but there may still be some posts missing at the end.

Hello guys,

I bought a Linksys WRT54GL V1.1. because I want to make a Hotspot with login/password.
I flashed it with EWRT, DD-WRT and OpenWRT… everything worked fine.
The 3 programs didn’t have the functions I want to use.
Before I flashed the Linksys WRT54GL once again I cleared always the NVRAM.
Then I flashed the Linksys WRT54GL with X-WRT… everything worked fine.
But than I clicked the “Update Packages” button in X-WRT… The Linksys WRT54GL crashed.
Frustratingly!!! sad

I tried to restart the Linksys WRT54GL… doesn’t work!
I tried to hold the restart button 30sec… doesn’t work!
I tried to hold the restart button, put the power cable in and hold the restart button 5sek, then… the DMZ led starts to blinking an I can ping the 192.168.1.1 but I can’t connect via http, telnet and so on…
I tried the failsafe mode… doesn’t work!

If I connect the power cable, the power led and the DMZ led are shining.
My Laptop is directly connect to the Port 1.
But I can’t ping 192.168.1.1

The JTEG cable is too difficult for me.
Also with the JTEG cable I lose the warranty of the device.

Can anybody help me please???
Any novel ideas???

There is no answer to my problem....
they all have the same problem but there is no result sad

there is the serial cable solution.
Anyway it's better to get all info in 1 place don't you think? ^^
Bye smile

But with the cable solution i will lose the warranty of the device...
or not?

You need to open the case so yes you'll lose warranty.
But warranty says: "This warranty does not apply if the Product (a) has been altered, except by Linksys, (b) has not been installed, operated, repaired, or maintained in accordance with instructions supplied by Linksys, or (c) has been subjected to abnormal physical or electrical stress, misuse, negligence, or accident."
so by flashing original firmware with openwrt you've lost warranty already...
