Has anyone been able to restore KERNEL using HeiryDairyMaid?

wrt54g.exe -flash:kernel /silent

I can -flash:nvram just fine but if I do the kernel, it all works but the router does not boot. Only way to load firmware is via tftp?

jtag says one SHOULD BE able to flash kernel just as one can flash CFE and NVRAM but kernel does not wok for me?
