Not sure whether it is supported yet - I would try making a initramfs image
and netbooting - openwrt-ixp4xx-2.6-zImage to see whether it works
You will have to deal with extracting the firmware yourself probably.

...have anybody an example for testing kernel on a GW2348-2 ?

But this dont want work on the GW
i go now over tftp, and the right image is openwrt-avila-2.6-zImage....
....who can read are clear in the advantage. :-)
