as OpenWrt development is currently stabilized for the next release (called "Attitude Adjustment") I compiled the latest trunk (r33311) for testing.
Please test and report bugs on TRAC (don't forget to put your mail or TRAC user in CC).

i have a netgear wnr3500 v1. unfortunately i erased one 64k block from u-boot.

anybody have tried to jtag this device?
if yes, i need advices on connecting the jtag and the required software package (openOCD?).

on PCB are 7 blank solder connections named TP7, TP8, TP9, TP10, TP11, TP12 and TP13.
#11-13 are near by the 88F5180 (cpu) and #7-10 are surround 88W8363 (baseband).

could this an jtag?

what are the difference between

CFW openwrt-wrt350nv2-squashfs-webupgrade.img
and
CFW openwrt-wrt350nv2-squashfs-recovery.bin (the one who running now in my rooter)

At first (if i remember well)
i was using/running CFW openwrt-wrt350nv2-squashfs-webupgrade.img

I note that they don't have the same GUI

and if i'm not wrong the "recovery.bin" one is less powerfull than "webupgrade.img" CFW

can some one confirme me it please

I now have Attitude Adjustment beta installed on my WRT350N v2 and it has the CESA module/package (installed), it doesn't seem to do anything all however.

Am I missing something?

Nope, you're not missing anything. The software that you use has to have hwcrypto support built in. If it doesn't, apps like OpenSSL or OpenVPN won't use the CESA-module, much the same like AES-NI-support on modern Intel CPU's.

I was using scp, or rsync. They should support that shouldn't they?

I think scp is based upon OpenSSL and that should support hwcrypto. If you use the right cipher with scp you should see a kernel-thread [mv-cesa] or something taking alot of cpu when you copy files with scp/sftp. The ciphers that the module supports should be listed in /proc/crypto. Look for module: mv-cesa.

And according to this forum-post you should use a linux-module called cryptodev. Maybe that helps?

Did openwrt remove orion from snapshot download ? I have tried to opkg update, but it fails by default.

Hi,

I need to transform my WRT350Nv2.1 into a ethernet/wifi bridge so I'm looking for something like OpenWRT.

The aim is to replace my WRT54G flashed using DD-WRT, but this hardware is not supported with WRT350N

Trying to find documentation on how to flash, I saw I had to use upslug2, so from my ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS i installed it, then downloaded according to this wiki page : http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/linksys/wrt350nv2

http://backfire.openwrt.org/10.03/orion/openwrt-wrt350nv2-squashfs-recovery.bin

but as I saw a more recent version, took this :

I switched off my router, hold on the reset button then swithc it on as described, I got the power led blinking between orange and green and finally issued this :

upslug2 -d eth1 -t 00:xx:7E:yy:D0:zz --image=openwrt-wrt350nv2-squashfs-recovery_10.03.1.bin

and got this :

openwrt-wrt350nv2-squashfs-recovery_10.03.bin: invalid file (e.g. bad signature): fatal error [std::exception]

tried this :

[no NSLU2 machines found in upgrade mode]

So was wondering if ubuntu's upslug2 is ok, then downloaded and compiled  https://dev.openwrt.org/browser/trunk/tools/upslug2

retried and got exactly the same result.

I discovered an extra super recent unstable wanna play version here too :

and got the very same result.

So ... as you all seems to have succeeded in flashing your router, could anyone of you redirect me or tell me the steps to reproduce to flash my router and use it please ?

I wouldn't like to open the box (I saw there was a serial port jp5 story)

Today I tried using Windows XP mode under Windows 7 x64 to use the "Upgrade utility 2.07" unsuccessfully.

At least it recognizes the .bin files, but I got an error when trying to update the router : Access Target Error !

why starting with recovery.bin ?

Did you already give the regular http://backfire.openwrt.org/10.03/orion/openwrt-wrt350nv2-squashfs-webupgrade.img a try ?
Once you have a 10.x version of openwrt running you simply can upgrade with "normal" *.bin (not webupgrade and not recovery) to any version you like.
But best is to build your own image from trunk

I've just read the wiki, and they start by the recovery fw :-/ Don't tell me I can simply use webupgrade and use the factory default fw upgrade using the web interface, is that what you mean ???

If you confirm then I'll try to install http://downloads.openwrt.org/backfire/10.03.1/orion/openwrt-wrt350nv2-squashfs-webupgrade.img using the factory default fw upgrade procedure

I used the Linksys firmware web interface ( version I was using was 2.0.19) and tried to flash it with this file :

The progress bar stopped at 45% but I waited 30 minutes, just in case, and now I have this :

so IT IS POSSIBLE TO FLASH WRT350N v2.1 (the one I have) using factory firmware

Anyone has been running 12.09 RC1 without any problems on WRT-350N v2.0 ? I've seen some people installed it, but did it run smoothly without buggy annoyances? Specially on WIFI ?

Are the "wifi issues" mentioned in the devices wiki page reported for the 10.03.1 fixed for 12.09 rc1?

My device is on a "mission critical" situation right now, if the 12.09 rc1 is running fine without any problems, specially on wifi, i would be happy to upgrade. Do you guys recommend upgrade for now?( Im still on linksys firmware).

Yes, but I have to retry, I was on a hurry and bought a Buffalo since.

I installed 12.09RC1 . Everything worked but not wifi. It just didnt show up on any computer, and it was enabled and configured correctly.
