Is the lan ip on your win7 in the range of 192.168.1.2-254?

>the power for the router i give from the usb port on my computer

Might be insufficient at 500mA max.

It sounds like power is OK. check the IP of the computer. Check the ethernet cable is OK.
What openWRT did you install (path to download)?

the ip is  not what you wrote;
i change it by netsh interface commend.

but its still not working.

and i dont know what i insall, i think i take it from the manue:

http://clockroom.freeiz.com/openwrt/ope … actory.bin

but i dont shure;

I have never used netsh command.  Why don't you just change the tcp/ipv4 parameters in "change adapter setting"?  It always works for me.
The LED as you described looks normal.

its still not working for me.

i connect the router to pc, by the internet cable, and conect power by the usb cable.

i whet till the windows 7 tell me that their is no interner line (by sign of computer with yellow triangle.

then i go to the change adapter setting, go chank tcp/ipv4.

change them to  ip 192.168.2.1 mask 255.255.255.0 gatway 192.168.1.1

then i wait again to the yellow triangle,

go to start cmd.
and write telnet 192.168.1.1 and enter

tell me if i do it right and what the problem can be.

thank you

I never use the command prompt.  I always use putty.  Command is no good anyone once you get to ssh.
You can try ping 192.168.1.1.  If ping has response, your router is fine.  Just use Putty (set to telnet, since the default is ssh) everything should be fine.
Also, as pepe2k said you should set your computer ip to 192.168.1.2.

I would like to use my 703n as a wireless webcam for monitoring my yard.  I tried mjpg_streamer and motion and both works on ethernet.  However I have difficulty to set up 703n as a remote server.  Specifically, I want to configure its wlan0 to connect to my home wifi network and access from the ethernet or wifi inside my house.  I can set it up as a bridge or repeater and connect to my wifi network (say at 192.168.1.x) and access openwrt from the lan port (a different subnet, say 192.168.0.x).  However, I have difficulty to access it from the main network.  Can someone give me a simple solution, preferably configure it in luci.
This situation may have been discussed before but I cannot find the exact way to do what I need.  Sorry if I overlooked and please point to the right references for me.  Thanks.
Edit:
This can be done.  The easiest way is probably use Gargoyle.

anyone test with chip 8187l ? any lucky with speed connetion?

I've just received my first WR703N - I think it was version 1.8

The install of Open Wrt went without a hitch but I have a problem with USB support.

If I mount a USB and issue a reboot the WR703N will not boot. I have to enter failsafe mode and issue a firstboot command.

The USB successfully mounts because I am able to write to a file.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I just bought a TP-LINK TL-WR703N. It's very cheap (RMB 99, about $15), but seems only produce for China.

It has 1x LAN port, 1x USB 2.0, AR9331 chipset, 4MB Flash and 32MB RAM.

I have already run an OpenWRT on it,but have some bugs, sysupgrade not work, and I can't find sysled's gpio, so sysled not work.

The discussion might have continued from here.
