Topic: OpenWRT builds (CC) fully featured for various routers

The content of this topic has been archived between 7 Oct 2014 and 5 May 2018. Unfortunately there are posts – most likely complete pages – missing.

30/30/30 reset is some weird DD-WRT voodoo and is not necessary for anything related to OpenWrt.

Anyone else having issues on 5GHz with the Archer C7/C5 (ath10k)?  Enabling 5GHz causes the 5GHz clients to get odd results while browsing.  Pings work on both IPv4 and IPv6, but visiting certain sites (newegg, amazon) via http causes timeouts.  Sometimes I'll get one request to go through, but subsequent ones timeout.
Turning off 5GHz radio fixes this entirely.  2.4 GHz only clients have no issues.

I'm excited to see ath10k included in a build and would be happy to help provide more information.  My understanding ath10k has been supported for quite some time.  However, the "official" snapshots don't seem to contain support for them...

Did the update with telnet seems to work great, all settings was still there so I didnt need to do any restore.

I also hope it solves my problem with 2,4ghz that needs to be restarted sometimes because it stops to work.

I will try that.

Should I be able to do a restore of my backup configuration files wit no problems if I do a sysupgrade via telnet?

Sure. Don't forget to make backup first.

After upgrade to latest build both me an my gf have problems with our android mobile phones with apps like facebook loading very slow ot not at all. Chrome seems to work fine.

Found some posts about this when googling but no answer on how to fix it.

I guess I need to try a newer build when it comes out or maybe someone have some settings to try?

Can you link to some posts about that specifically (a router is to blame for issues with only specific mobile apps)?  It seems like a very narrow and unlikely problem for a router to have.

What other apps?

I agree but im sure thats the problem, play store seems to have problems also. If I disable wifi everything is fine and the problems started after the upgrade. First I thought there where some problems wih facebook but realised thats not the problem.

This sounds much like my problem.

Hi,

i havethe situaton that i have 2 routers in different places and ich want 1 WLN Network using WDS. It is working but the routers are too far away to get a good connection. But they are connected via cable. Can i force them to use the cable conenction instead of bridging over wlan? I have the latests openWRT relaease running from this thread.

Are you also on TP-Link TL-WDR4300?  When you say it started after the upgrade, which particular upgrade?  It definitely seems (or seemed--it's pretty old) like an issue based on that thread, though I'm not sure about the threads linked within that thread.

Yes there is some problem with 5GHz band after last release.

Router model : WDR3600

Yes I have that router, maybe I should try to do a reset when a new version comes out. I was running a old version before upgrade, I wrote that earlier in this thread.

I can confirm after some more testing that facebook app and play store app have big problems. Other apps I use like chrome works. When I use mobile data no problem, same on my gf android phone.

manzzon - is your WAN connection PPPoE - I just want to see if it's related to my problem - https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=55217

Not sure if that answers my question to be honest - I'm interested in your WAN connection type, e.g. DHCP, PPPoE, PPTP, L2TP etc

TP-Link TL-WDR4300

TP-Link 1043nd V1 : upgrade from r43416 to r43737 using LuCi fails. System reboots before the flash confirmation page. md5 is checked. Any hints, or should I wait for the next release ?

May be post #348 will help

Thank you, but...
after reading post #344 I will skip this version. A bricked router is not what I need now.

Martijn has posted 44162.

WR1043ND v2 upgraded to r44236 (Trunk), keeping settings, no problem so far.

Upgraded to r44162 today but still have problems with facebook and play store app (android), takes forever to load pictures.

I guess I have to try Gargoyle.

I have similar problems on the Archer C7 with dd-wrt. Unfortunately Gargoyle doesn't support the 5 GHz radio on this router (I think it'll work with the TL-WDR4300).

Can you check if the firmware is indeed upgrade to r44236? I done an upgrade to r44236 and it still reflect r43757, did a hashsum check on both version and it turn out to be the same (ie. r43757). sad
