See the excellent instructions in Heinz's post # 728 (it is on page 30 on my pc) on how to "unbrick" the router.

It's also covered in the wiki entry for the C2600

I have Unbricked my tp link but openwrt and LEDE firmware not working
The original fw Work perfectly

Do you have solution for flash an open source firmware fonctional ?

Thanx

If you are flashing from the stock firmware, then you need to use the factory one.

And what's not working? If you're trying to use the web interface, that's not included by default -- you have to SSH into the router and then install LuCI from there.

This guide works for both openWRT and LEDE: https://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/firstlogin

How to install LuCI: https://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/luci.essentials

That is because the web interface (LuCi) is not included. You have to SSH into the router and then install LuCI from there.

If you don't know what SSH is and how to do this, I strongly recommend you not to use OpenWrt/Lede, as in my opinion you don't have the required knowledge and skills to work with it.

@eliasdu75015, if you install the Heinz build, you will get the web interface as it is included in the image. You can easily change the password and enable SSH from the web interface once you login for the first time.

I have install the web interface via SSH with putty
LEDE  firmware work correctly with LUCI interface
but OPENWRT has never work, I nerver had default Gateway and no reponse with command line telnet or putty

How to configure Led ? I don't have wireless Led and others. I have Only power, wan and LAN 1 led

The wireless LED doesn't work yet. It's one of the known issues.

LEDE is most people's preferred version for the C2600. Most patches are going into that build rather than openWRT.

WiFi LEDs are controlled by ath10k driver in C2600.. I'm not very optimistic about them.

Hey all

Since no one replied, I take it the v1.1 firmware linked above still doesn't reboot the router?

Someone with v1.1 hardware pls let us know if reboot works or not..

I think I might go ahead and buy v1.1 next week and test for myself.. hope the devs will follow up and continue working on a fix though (if not already fixed).

Hi, I just recently bought this router for the awesome cpu and ram resources and for it´s 2 usb 3.0 ports I plan to use for full hd streaming. I also plan to use it as our edge router and incorportate ad-blocking similar to pi-hole. I already have my firewall.user ready to be loaded to it.

I will connect it to the tower today to my n10 mesh gateway (ar150@10.2.10.1) through a switch since now it's connected to

a mr3020@10 through it's only lan port to node9@10.2.10.13 and the wan port is on a dmz with public ip assigned from the isp router on the other side of a wireless bridge using two ubiquity nanobeamM5. The n10 acts as the gateway to the internet with a permissive firewall since I haven't loaded my comprehensive version!.

I will check the uptime periodically by connecting to it from a town 2 km away using connectbot on my samsung advance.

I have had reboots when I had this router configured as my gateway with the wan port connected to the isp router in a private residence where I couldn't always get physical access to it. It is replacing the n10 as a spi firewall and NAT). I have been trying to put my isp router in bridge mode and use the ac2600 to authenticate to telmex through pppoe but the isp router doesn't allow me to modify the settings or erase them for that matter and reenter the username and password through openwrt.

I used the firmware from the ftp---tplink-forum.pl-C2600 version that has LuCi. It worked for awhile then I lost contact. I flashed it over wireless using the the factory firmware. It didn't boot up so I thought I must've bricked the beast. Later I took the router with me to the kiosko (like a 711) and fixed it there. I recovered the router using tftp server on my linux box and loaded the trunk version firmware withut LuCi.

I haven't tested it because I'm missing a 7m cat6e shielded cable to reach the n10 router at the top of the tower from where I will place the ac2600 inside a big nema enclosure where my battery and solar controller and tower light power supply are kept. Will share pictures soon!!!

I am really eager to use this router as my core router and configure it for a squid web cache, hotspot management, video streaming server, ad-blocker, and smart queue management (bufferbloat) as well as a possible upgrade to my ar150 mesh gateway to serve at least one town with gigabit wifi using a new 4x4 multipolarized sector antena.

I will keep in touch and report any errors I experience after flashing your bleeding-edge builds.

Hi All,

My new C2600 hardware is v1.1. I can flash it successfully. However the WIFI cannot work.  Below is the dmesg. How to fix the wifi ?

There is a bunch of firmware load errors, like:

[   10.732314] ath10k_pci 0000:01:00.0: Direct firmware load for ath10k/QCA99X0/hw2.0/firmware-5.bin failed with error -2

Can you check if the firmware files are present at all in the build?

Thanks,

Hi,

After install ath10k-firmware-qca99x0, now is the "Direct firmware load for ath10k/pre-cal-pci-0000:01:00.0.bin failed with error -2 " Error.

There is a pmic controller in our devices that provides realtime clock device. This may solve the problem of time being behind when switching to updated oscillator clocks (cxo/pxo).
https://github.com/dissent1/r7800/commi … 52b967110f
But there is a problem - I can't figure out correct pmic interrupts for our board.
RTC interrupt is set correctly according to gpl.

Could someone please help figuring out correct interrupts for pmic node and mpp subnode?

According to dmesg with the above commit pmic and rtc are initialized, but the time is not getting set into rtc and it stays at 00:00 01.01.1970 forever. RTC time can be checked by 'hwclock' command in command line.
Hope correct pmic interrupts will solve this issue.

I am now running LEDE Reboot r1934  built by Heinz in his test folder.  So far so good.  My 5ghz wifi was a little flaky so I thought i'd see if this build makes any difference.  It's a pretty big jump in versions from my old build.  Let's see what happens.  It's a bit of a process to upgrade because I end up having to tftp the image to get it to load properly.  Then I need to install a few packages again like ipv6/upnp/nat transversal to get things working as before.  Not as easy as with Shibby's Tomato, but much more flexable.

root@lede-C2600:~# uname -a
Linux lede-C2600 4.4.24 #0 SMP PREEMPT Sat Oct 15 20:27:14 2016 armv7l GNU/Linux

is AC1600 the same platform, can i flash the same image? how can i confirm that?

I see a lot of positive reviews of LEDE and Heinz' firmware here. Is it better (faster) than TP-Link's stock firmware?

Found this daily version : downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/ipq806x/generic/openwrt-ipq806x-C2600-squashfs-factory.bin
Is this usable on any TPLINK C2600 hardware ? V1.0 and V1.1 ?

Thx

I believe most people are using LEDE rather than openWRT on the 2600. I don't think openWRT works on the 1.1 routers due to not having a flash patch.

LEDE works on both revisions, but there is a reboot bug on the V1.1 hardware.

Thx Guys,

What is the version advised for 1.1 hardware ? Last daily version from common trunk ?
Looking at the packages, I did not find aircrack-ng on LEDE ? Does anyone has an aircrack package ported ?

Thx again !

Hello,

Installed LEDE for the C2600 and then packages for aircrack-ng.
Configuration to monitor mode was done with no problem.
But capture is working partially. It seems I have only control packets. I was searching for data aggregate and none of these packets were capture (7KB size).

Does anyone has ever used LEDE/aircrak-ng/ATH10K for capture ?

Thx

Thanks for feedback, Heinz, I knew you would have been interested smile
