I have a new CPE210 ... and would like to try installing openwrt on it ... has anyone been working on this model?

Trunk does not have LuCi interface, you have to intall via CLI
you will loose MAXTream, and if you don't like things, use this to go back to stock

Have you tested latest Beta http://forum.tp-link.com/showthread.php … o-6100-MHz

Ok, luci isn't a problem, I can install it later via CLI or I can build an image with it.
My current setup it's a Nanostation M2 + Openwrt + dual wifi wan + mwan3... it's work well, but I'd like to move to CPE210 (64 vs 32 mb ram, 560 vs 400 mhz cpu).

So I have to put CPE210 in recovery mode and TFTP openwrt image?

Thanks!

I have never see on my 510, recovery mode, i seen it, in UBNT devices.
Someone with the experience will have to answer, my configurations needs are very simple, I don't do CLI, all I have done is Failsafe.
If you compile with LuCi, it would be nice if you share the file, 210 & 510 use same file

I found this that explain how to put CPE210/510 in recovery mode https://forum.freifunk.net/t/cpe210-wie … brick/2896
Here I build an image for CPE210 with luci... please, use it at your own risk, it's untested (my CPE210 will arrive at the end of the week) http://www.megafileupload.com/5w2/openw … actory.bin

Edit
Ok, I received my unit... you can simply flash openwrt via web interface, no recovery mode needed.

@danymarc
If you are interested, I updated the wiki page http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-cpe210 with instruction on how to use failsave mode.
I did some tests with my unit and the latest trunk, but there's something wrong with tx power, I think that it's a little low vs stock firmware, so for now I revert back to stock.

Thanks
ema

Thank you

I have installed from latest trunk. Installed luci. Everything is working.
But tx power is limited to 22dBm. Anyone knows how to bump it to 27dBm ?

Hi i bought a new cpe210 v1.1. Will there be a openwrt firmware for v1.1? thx

To make TP-Link Stock Firmware load OpenWRT on CPE210 v1.1 hardware you have to edit
tools/firmware-utils/src/tplink-safeloader.c

Search for

"CPE210(TP-LINK|UN|N300-5):1.0\r\n"

Add a new line

"CPE210(TP-LINK|UN|N300-5):1.1\r\n"

For CPE510 v1.1 it would be

"CPE510(TP-LINK|UN|N300-5):1.1\r\n"

Recompile --> done

I am not a dev. Maybe a dev could apply this change to the CC trunk.

before  testing try if you can do recovery here http://forum.tp-link.com/showthread.php … post163622
Tp-Link has not made any firmware changes between Version 1.0 and 1.1, both use the same formware, I recommend you Snapshot CC is buggy, if you need LuCi install it, if you run into trouble use recovery

openwrt-15.05-ar71xx-generic-cpe210-220-510-520-squashfs-factory.bin
and gives the error "The hardware version is not supported."..

did you find any way tof lash the firmware on your cpe210?

thank you

Panda

I see that people from Freifunk are using these devices without issue, I don't have this device myself but I guess it should work... can somebody please confirm if you have CPE210 and you can flash it with OpenWrt.

Hi guys,

I have a Tp-link CPE210 V 1.1 Hardware is the same like V. 1.0.

I see this link:

http://git.openwrt.org/?p=openwrt.git;a … 806a444f47

Maybe some one could tellme how i could recompile a firmware with support for CPE 210 V 1.1

Or someone dev guru for a prebuilt  .bin file and please update with support for V 1.1 this firmware:

https://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_cal … actory.bin

Thanks for your time.

Cheers!

Hello,

I have a rather strange Problem with the CPE210 and OpenWRT, flashing and so on works fine and initial setup is no problem at all. Than after changing the IP Address of the unit and activation Wifi the unit reboots and is not reachable under the new IP. After several hard-reboots it works again fine also with the new IP only to be not reachable after the next reboot. The LEDs are all showing connection, unit is also not pingable.

Hardware Verison is 1.0 and running the newest OpenWRT
unit is directly connected to the laptop with Cat.5e wires

Thanks for your time
cheers
