Gosh, linksys is going down hill, if not already.

Between the 3200acm and the 32x,  on issues as of recent... drivers and google devices causing havoc. I feel bad for the peeps who still are giving hope with Linksys to solve their issues.

It's 2018, and getting worse for support for open source products.

One thing I do note... devices will be off limits to mods in the near future. In a way it will force manufactures to put a great deal of time and effort in truly supporting their products. Else peeps will move on and forget about a quality name or latest development. What peeps want is fully functional and bug free. If not fix it or refund. There should be a lemon law on electronics. Thinking how many put up with buggy or lacking updates on their phones phones.

Noticed some weird things:
A) It seems it cannot find the  /var/run/wifi-phy0.pid file... and not, it's not actually there. wifi-phy1.pid ( the 2.4ghz radio ) is there...
B) Tried different country codes and different channels ( including Auto ) , nothing works... in some cases, the interface does not even shows as active in Luci, like this:

@mariano.silva who cares about luci? just show your /etc/config/wireless config file (with no passwords)... do a default config, set wifi to disabled in luci, reboot, then enable again, should work. Also use a non DFS flagged channel, like 36 (anything above 48 is flagged for DFS) for example... like this:

See if installing the ip-full package fixes the issue.

@David : I've just install OpenWrt SNAPSHOT r5979 firmware for test, mwan3 is same issue, i lost internet connection while the pppoe is still connected to ISP. I think, mwan3 package not work on new kernel. Hoping you will fix it soon. Thanks

New user here, have tried the latest package and also r5621 on my WRT1900ACSv1.  Upon flash and a reboot I am unable to use luci and I cannot download when running an opkg update:

I can ping ips, but not hostnames so I'm assuming the opkg issue is with DNS but I'm not sure why.

Now I'm struggling with speed problems, but will try tweaking it before reposting ( 20 mbits at 5GHZ at 2 feet from the router ...)

20mbps is slow for 5Ghz. Currently my ISP connection is 300/300 and I get every bit of that on my Samsung S8, so I know it is possible to do much better.

Download a wifi analyzer for your phone and take a look at the 5Ghz spectrum and see how many competing SSID's there are.

anyone having issues with broadcast between WLAN clients and LAN<->WLAN?
I am able to ping each and every device from router, but I see no reply to ARP broadcust if I try to ping from another client.
client isolate is disabled in wlan configuration.
haripin_mode and multicast_to_unicast enabled (1) on both wlans and lan interfaces.

I found out that the issue for 5ghz is to go "through concrete walls". If i'm testing without any blocking walls in the middle, i get a good speed... let's say 400 mbps ... thorough 1 concrete wall, it drops to 80 mbps, then through 2 walls, it drops to 20 mbps and it comes up and down to 0 sometimes ( tested with iperf3 )

2.4Ghz penetrates better, so try that band and see how it does.

Also, you can get 5Ghz wifi extenders.

Good day - I think I've missed a post or three in my periodic scanning of this forum. I have an WRT1900ACv1 running the 4.4 kernel. I see mention of now being able to use the 4.9 kernel, but the notification on the download page on David's site suggests to keep running the 4.4 kernel. I see if you want to run 4.9 you need to set "option check_signature 0".
My question is is the recommendation for v1 owners to still run 4.4 kernel, or is 4.9 kernel stable now, and if running 4.9 do you set the check_signature option before upgrading to 4.9 or after?

This just started out by people asking me if they can try the build, and I found it easier to just upload them to a server. Remember, I don't make any profit or take any dollars for these builds. This is just something I do as a side hobby.

You can try the 4.9 kernel and see if it agrees with your hardware. Set the signature option after the upgrade.

4.9 have no problems with stability anymore, it's right. I meet some non-fatal issues with RTC with it, but it's not interfere so much.

But keep in mind you will have significant penalty in wireless range and ping times after you install it (F*ck you, FCC!), and no simple way to unlock it back so far. So i decide to roll back to 4.4.

However, transmission and some other packages are still not available in 4.9 repo, so you probably need to add 4.4 repo as well.

You can alter check_signature any time if you plan to keep configuration, or after 4.9 install if don't.

The problem does indeed seem to be with Advanced Reboot.
A bugfix has been done to correct a problem with '.' in the partition names.
I downloaded and installed the new version from the LEDE snapshot repository and it's working fine now.
When you make a new build, I assume you'll automatically pick up the latest version, so it should be ok.
