Hello arokh
I will to initialize a smartcardreader. What I need is kmod-usb-serial-ftdi.
This is a kernel module which is dependent to the kernel they compile with.
Can you help please.
@arokh, few files seem to be missing from the openwrt-packages.diff patch for the WNDRNAND build (r42223):
net/ipsec-tools/files/psk.txt
net/ipsec-tools/files/racoon.conf
net/ipsec-tools/files/racoon.iface.hotplug
net/ipsec-tools/files/setkey.conf
thanks!
@joker2014
I'll add it to the next build.
@Culex
No, I haven't, is that baby jumbo frames? Not sure there's a benefit unless you are implementing MPLS or something like that.
@rsiram22
Ah the package moved from oldpackages to new feed and I forgot to add them after reapplying patches. Are you using IPSec/L2TP? Does it still work OK? Might just add it back since my build already has libopenssl.
@arokh I would very like to install this new builds of your because I really liked you old ones but I have a few questions regarding it:
1. What are the differences between wndr3x00_760mhz, wndr3x00_800mhz and wndr3x00_800mhz_noipv6? I installed wndr3x00_800mhz_noipv6 yesterday and was surprised to see that it also has ipv6. I thought noipv6 meant that is supports only ipv4. What is up with that?
2. I noteced that you have several interfaces setup. Do I need all of them for normal usage or I can remove them? If I want to remove them do I simply delete each of them or do I have to make some more other adjustements?
3. My ISP provides DHCP clients but I locks last connected MAC device. How do I release the current IP from a router and renew IP? Gargoyle has a button integrated for this but on your FW i couldnt find anything similar to this.

1. The difference is in the name, 760MHz vs 800MHz overclock and noipv6 means no ipv6. I'm running the noipv6 build myself and it most definitely doesn't have it, kmod-ipv6 isn't included in the image. You can look at the config file which is included in the release directory or /etc/openwrt_config on your router.
2. If you're referring to the "tor" and "vpn" interface, they are needed for those functions. Do whatever you like with this build, but don't expect support if you do Source and diffs are available so you can see yourself the difference between vanilla openwrt if you like. Not really that much except preconfigured services, and they should all be configurable through UCI. Removing interfaces will surely mess up the releated services. If they weren't needed I wouldn't include them.
3. Use the "general" section of this forum for questions unrelated to the build.
I also understood those naming the way you described it now. But when I went into LuCi I noticed sections about ipv6. Of course no devices were listed but I thought that was because I have ipv6 disabled on all my devices. Did not know that LuCi has those sections no matter if ipv6 is actually enabled.
Thank you for clarification on this things.
Sorry about the unrelated questions. I though you knew how to do that. Sorry.
What can I say ... I appologize for my crimes and I thank you for your time and help. I must say I did not expect this kind of arrogant and impatient response from you. I always had you for a much more friendly. I guess i was wrong. Will go seek FW and guidence somewhere else and I will not waste your time any more. Am sad thou because that means I cannot use your builds since I am not a pro when it comes to OpenWRT and custom build FW and without someone willing to explain this simple things without pay I think I will get nowhere.
Again appologize for my crimes and I thank you for your time and help.
New patch someone came up with for the ethernet switch issues.
I'm about to test it out today and will let you know how it goes!

@arokh
The discussion about who is arrognat is rly off topic so lets leave it be. I posted my posts here because 2/3 of them were actualy about YOUR builds and THIS topic. I posted the third also here so I would not spam the entire forum with my problems and because i knew you in particularly KNOW this matter. I immagened ppl here were friendly and kind. I guess I was wrong. It is more important to you to attack ppl like me and make an elephant out of a fly. Sorry! I will go and read entire OUTDATED Wikipedia about OpenWRT and study all there is posted in forums and will find out by myself how to do it. Thx
Hello arokh
What I need is kmod-usb-serial-ftdi.
arokh, Thank You .
You're welcome.
Tried to do the patch, not a problem applying the patch but
Again I can't compile in debian 7 x64 VM or Ubuntu VM because of this annoying error, which happens also on hnyman builds- where he doesnt use 3.14
Meanwhile I am still able to build gargoyle AA based, but the driver inside their package is a bit different and doesn't fully apply to this patch.

Just ordered a TP-Link WDR4900 for $113 shipped
Was looking at the Archer C5/C7 in the same price range, but looking at reviews it seems the 720MHz MIPS doesn't cut it for high 802.11ac speeds so seemed better to go for an 802.11n router with double the horsepower.

Great news, I was looking at that one myself as well, but since I am not knowledgeable enough about making OpenWRT builds I didn't, now it might be on the agenda! Am I right if I assume you are going to make builds for it as well? I am hoping for higher speeds for NFS and Samba.
Yes, absolutely. I've done a test run and it builds just fine. There's nothing really Netgear specific in my builds except maybe button configuration which I'll look at when I get it.
arokh thank your for the excellent WNDR build!!!! I am struggeling with a recurring odhcpd error. Please forgive my question as I am a newbie. I've been experiencing the issue for the last two or three revisions: r42223, r42227 r42260.
General info: (I have a neighbor who likes to try cracking into my wireless so I have implemented as many security layers as possible)
WNDR 3800 router at 760mhz, r42260
LAN: static ipv4 172.25.xxx.xxx; static leases (only clients having static leases served), ipv6 enabled
TOR: 192.168.2.1, ipv4 dhcp enabled, does not require static lease
wlan - Radio0 - MAC-filter used - Hide ESSID, 63 bit WPA2 key used
Radio0 - port2 - no MAC-filter used - Hide ESSID, 63 bit WPA2 key used
UPnP uninstalled
WAN - ipv4 and ipv6 alternate DNS used: 4.2.2.x and 2001:4860:4860::8888 2001:4860:4860::8844
The problem happens intermittently and particulary when there is a client connected to the WiFi.

Any ideas?
I suggest creating a thread in the general section and/or creating a ticket, the question is unrelated to this build and therefore better posted there so others can help and be helped.
There was a commit regarding odhcpd recently: https://dev.openwrt.org/changeset/42217/trunk
Might be related I wouldn't know.

what???? thought you were planning on getting a 4300 ...
I passed on that since it wouldn't be much of an upgrade Don't worry though, I'll still build the image for it
Arokh can you build me a test 800 (or 760 is fine) with this patch applied?
https://dev.openwrt.org/raw-attachment/ … _dma.patch
I can't build it on ubuntu 14 x64 or debian 7 x64 with that error I posted above...
What environment do you use to build?
Arokh, I've been using your builds for a couple of weeks now and I'm very, very pleased with it. Using dnsmasq with ad-blocking, tunnelbroker ipv6, NFS and samba file sharing and the WiFi power adjustments. Way better than an airport extreme I was using.
A question:
I have two wndr3700v2's, the first one is able to use up to 30 dBm in the 2.4Ghz and 5GHz band (using 23 dBm as a sweet setting). The second one only reports up to 20 dBm in the 2.4 band, but 30 dBm in the 5Ghz band. Why the difference?
Using
iw list | grep MHz
to see the settings...
From what I understand, the power readings aren't correct anyways the hardware decides so I wouldn't think too much about it.
Ok, thanks.
Are you guys using the Tor service and it works ok? Just wondering since one guy had some issues. I tested the factory image a little while ago it should be OK.
