aria2c seems can't download torrent file? It just downloads the .torrent file itself, but can't proceed to download the files in it. e.g.:

root@OpenWrt /mnt/sda1# aria2c http://att.xxxxxx.net/nForum/att/NetResources/1701898220/298

07/22 18:17:44 [NOTICE] Download complete: /mnt/sda1/xxxxxx.torrent

Download Results:
gid   |stat|avg speed  |path/URI
======+====+===========+=======================================================
8c0a3f|OK  |   1.0MiB/s|/mnt/sda1/xxxxxx.torrent

Status Legend:
(OK):download completed.
root@OpenWrt:/mnt/sda1# aria2c ./xxxxxx.torrent
Exception caught
Exception: [download_helper.cc:402] errorCode=1 Unrecognized URI or unsupported protocol: ./xxxx.torrent

root@OpenWrt:/mnt/sda1#

But the same torrent can be downloaded by transmission.
The version of aria2c is 1.18.4, the firmware is:
openwrt-ar71xx-generic-wndrmacv2-squashfs-factory.r41683_oc.img

Did you install transmission yourself? If not, do so wink transmission is not part of the FW Arokh made this time around.
If you did, can you access transmission through any transmission web client or transmission remote gui?

Do you mean install aria2 by myself? No, I used the luci package manage page to install the listed arial2c package, and the transmission packages too. Transmission works fine.
Is there any documents discuss this? Why there is no luci-app-aria2 ?

Ahhh, seems I was a bit tired when I read your post, I do not know anything about the aria2 package, but since you are essentially asking about a package and not this FW, maybe it is better to make a separate thread about it here:
https://forum.openwrt.org/viewforum.php?id=10

I get these errors in my log with transmission:

daemon.err transmission-daemon[1919]: Couldn't connect socket 83 to 2001:0:9d38:90d7:388d:1220:bbcc:7b21, port 56050 (errno 1 - Operation not permitted) (net.c:288)

Now I have come to understand that it has something to do with IPv6, though my ISP doesn't provide me with IPv6 so I thought it might be wise for me to disable IPv6 in my config files, but what is the safe way to disable IPv6 on WAN as well as LAN?
Can I simply disable all the IPv6 lines in Network and DHCP config files, or would that be unwise?

Thanks!

Please do what you suggested in your previous post wink

Thanks for the confirmation wink Just did it and restarted the network.

I meant stay on topic lol smile

Well, I know the reason for me to disable IPv6 might not be on topic, but I would like to disable IPv6 on you FW to prevent it from happening. And for that I would need to know if this is the proper way or not, or if I should do more than this, considering your FW.

My point being disabling ipv6 on my build would be the same as on regular openwrt builds and can be asked in the general section. It is barrier breaker with small mods.

I do make a build now and then with ipv6 disabled might be helpful: http://enduser.subsignal.org/~trondah/test/

Ahhhh, i see then, though the two main reasons to go with your build is the very good experiences I had on your former builds and openVPN working out of the box and the last one really is important to me since I had it working once, but with too much effort and when I had to upgrade I couldn't get it working like I wanted it to and having a personal VPN server this energy efficient is very nice!
Also the standard overclock really helps, which isn't implemented in most builds.

created a custom ddns (duckdns.org) via luci's servcices->ddns. when the page is reopned, the service is set to 3322.org. is there a way that the default entry is set to custom if the service name does not match in the ddns service list?

or, is this something i need to create a trac ticket for luci-ddns package?

I give you a lot of credit.  You get it from all sides.  Full credit for a wonderful job.
I am very new at this.  Why is it when I try to change the LAN address to 10.10.1.1, everything works but I can't access the router interface.  Before I change it, http://192.168.1.1/ works but after I change it shouldn't http://10.10.1.1.  Every time I try it, I get access denied?

anyone having issues with 5ghz radio? It seems to have turned on, but no signal. i am on v1 wndr3700 with OpenWrt Barrier Breaker r41778 / LuCI Trunk (svn-r10459)

Signal: 0 dBm | Noise: -95 dBm
Bitrate: 0.0 Mbit/s | Country: US

is what i see in Luci and no clients can see this SSID either

the blue LED on router glows just fine..

when i change the hwmode to 11n, the radio wont even turn on.

This is what i have in /etc/config/wireless for 5ghz radio:

config wifi-device 'radio1'
        option type 'mac80211'
        option hwmode '11a'
        option path 'pci0000:00/0000:00:12.0'
        option channel 'auto'
        option txpower '30'
        option country 'US'
        option htmode 'HT20'

config wifi-iface
        option device 'radio1'
        option network 'lan'
        option mode 'ap'
        option encryption 'psk2'
        option wps_pushbutton '1'
        option ssid 'yyyy'
        option key 'xxxx'

@ddeluca

Thx glad you like it smile Because of the new ad blocking uhttpd is now set to listen to another address. Change it like this:

uci set uhttpd.main.listen_http=10.10.1.1:80 && uci commit && /etc/init.d/uhttpd restart

@rsiram22

Please stick to the topic. I'd rather not have this turn into a general support thread, there is a general section for that.

What is the performance gain compared to "non-optimized" firmaware?

I just did a full reset and flashed the FW with unfs included and it works like a charm out of the box!

I spent some time going over the ar71xx patches and managed to build with 3.14 kernel. If anyone wants to try it can be found here: http://enduser.subsignal.org/~trondah/test/kernel314_noipv6_oc/

Would be interesting to know if the WAN throughput is any better with 3.14 as some have complained about. Oh and no refunds if it bricks your router wink Looks good here though lol.

Ok, seems like turning off MIPS16 did the trick.

EDIT: Found https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/15209 same thing

Did you turn off MIPS16 for the whole build?
Or did you try to find which individual component causes this delay?

For the whole build. If there is no reason to have it on id rather turn it off when it causes such an issue.

I just tested with my own build: disabling MIPS16 just for dropbear seems to be enough to cut the login time by half.

According to this, it's a compromize that will affect performance to save some space. I'm not that hungry for KB smile

Hello, is the 800Mhz branch discontinued ? Since i need to upgrade to get a fixed UPnP, i wished to try the 800Mhz version but it seems you are not building them anymore, was it unstable or something ? (Or not enough interest ?)

If i want to keep my config manually, to cherry pick what i load back, can you confirm all i need to save is the /etc/config folder ?

Sorry for the noobish question
